Sariska Tiger Reserve
Sariska Tiger Reserve is on of the 50 tiger Reserve in India. It is located in the Indian state of Rajasthan and has a core of area 881.82 km2 . It is the only National Park in the India which lies completely in the Aravalli range. Protecting Sariska is like protecting a large chunk of the Aravalli range. Aravalli range is one of the oldest ranges in the world. It is estimated that they were higher than the present day Mount Everest. River Rupareli cuts through Sariska and divides Sariska into two parts.
Sariska is divided into four ranges, each headed by a Forest Range Officer. The whole of Sariska is presently headed by a person of the rank of Chief Conservator of Forests who is an Indian Forest Officer(I.F.S).
